Privacy
How does Singletick "not see" my data?
Every entry — habit, todo, note, pledge, mood entry — is encrypted on your device before it touches storage. The encryption key is derived from your passphrase and never leaves your phone. Singletick has no copy, no master key, and no way to read your data even if compelled to.
Do you collect analytics?
Anonymous event counts only — things like "habit_completed" or "paywall_viewed" with no content attached. Habit names, streak counts, identifiers, and any free-form text are explicitly forbidden by the codebase's analytics rules.
Do you have my email?
No. Singletick has no account system, no sign-up form, and no email capture. We don't even know your install exists beyond the anonymous events above.
Does Singletick sell, share, or train AI on my data?
No. We can't — see the first answer. Even if we wanted to, the data is encrypted with a key we don't have. The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy both reflect this as a hard prohibition.
Sync & backup
How does backup work?
Singletick exports your encrypted data as a single ciphertext blob and uploads it to your own Google Drive (in a hidden, app-only folder, invisible from your normal Drive list) or your own iCloud private container. Even your cloud provider sees only opaque bytes.
Can I sync between two devices?
You can back up on device A and restore on device B using the same passphrase. Real-time sync isn't shipped yet — it's planned. The web companion gives you a second editing surface in the meantime.
What if I lose my passphrase?
We can't recover it. That's the trade-off of zero-knowledge encryption. For Pro users, the Recovery Key PDF gives you a printable backup that can decrypt your vault. Print it, store it somewhere safe, never share it.
Where exactly is my backup stored?
On Android: a hidden, app-only folder in your own Google Drive (not visible from your normal Drive list). On iOS: an iCloud private container under your Apple ID. We never copy or proxy these blobs through our servers because we don't run any.
Can I export to JSON or CSV?
Yes, on the free tier. Settings → Backup → Export. The export is plaintext so you can import it into a spreadsheet — handle the file as carefully as the original data.
Subscriptions & billing
How much is Pro?
Pricing is shown in your local currency inside the app, with monthly and annual options (annual saves money). Subscriptions are processed by the App Store and Play Store; Singletick is never the merchant of record.
How do I cancel?
Through your App Store or Play Store account settings. Singletick can't cancel for you — we never see your subscription identity.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google per their respective policies. Contact them through the store account where you bought the subscription.
Does Family Sharing work?
Apple Family Sharing is supported on iOS. Google Family Library is supported on Android if you set your subscription to share. Both are managed entirely in your store account.
Does Pro auto-renew?
Yes — like every other subscription on the App Store and Play Store. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your store account if you don't want it to renew.
Web companion
What is the web companion?
A browser surface at singletick.app/companion that lets you edit your habits, todos, and notes from your laptop. Pairing is a 6-digit code shown in the browser and typed into your phone. Once paired, every byte that flows is end-to-end encrypted directly between your phone and your browser.
Do I need internet for the companion?
For the initial pairing handshake, yes — both devices need to briefly reach our pairing relay (under 60 seconds). After pairing, the data flows directly between your phone and your browser.
What does the pairing relay see?
Only ephemeral pairing metadata for under 60 seconds. No habit content, no notes, no passphrase, no derived key.
When does the companion launch?
Currently in active development. The current app already supports a same-WiFi version inside Settings → Companion.
General
Why "Singletick"?
One tick, every day. The brand has expanded to cover habits, todos, notes, pledges, mood, and focus, but the spirit is the same — one private place to mark something done.
Why a single app instead of separate ones?
Because every "productivity" app on the store wants to know things about you that have nothing to do with the feature you opened it for. Singletick is the inverse bet — one cohesive home for habits, todos, notes, pledges, mood, and focus, with the same privacy charter across all of them.
Will the free tier always exist?
Yes. The free tier covers every primary surface of the app — habits, todos, notes, pledges, mood, focus, statistics, JSON / CSV export, local notifications. We consider the free tier a permanent commitment, not a trial.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
